Northwest Iowa Communities Among Safest In The State

Northwest Iowa — A number of northwest Iowa communities have been named some of the safest cities in the state, according to Security Baron.

Security Baron says that they used crime statistics from the FBI. Sioux Center, population 7,578 had “an impressive median income of $73,185.” They say Sioux Center only had .26 violent crimes per 1,000 people and only 2.77 property crimes for the same population size.

Sioux Center was listed as the safest community in the state. Orange City was second. A little further down the list, Le Mars was listed at number 17. Estherville was listed as number 19. Sheldon was 26th, and Spencer 28th. Spirit Lake was number 36, and rounding out the top 50 at number 50 was Storm Lake. Smaller cities didn’t appear to make the list.
