Sheldon, Iowa — 2016 marks KIWA Radio’s 55th Anniversary, and as part of our celebration we’ve been giving our listeners a chance to win cash.
Back by popular demand, the KIWA 55th Anniversary Hi-Lo contest has callers guess a number between 105 and 1550, and whoever manages to guess the right number takes home a check for $155.
This week’s contest ended Friday morning, when Mike Oldenkamp of Sheldon guessed the correct number, 506, at the last possible opportunity for the week, during the 8 AM hour with LA and Rachel.
Oldenkamp picked up his check Friday afternoon. He says he missed a few of the numbers but not the important ones. He said he has been listening pretty closely.
We asked him what he plans to do with the money.
This is the fourth week we’ve played Hi Lo. We started August 15th, and played for three weeks. We took one week off and then played this week. Oldenkamp joins our Week #1 winner, Alice Stapenhorst of Sheldon, Week #2 winner, Robin Jungers of Boyden, and Week #3 winner, Myron Klein, each of whom pocketed $155 for picking the correct number.
If we go the whole week without a winner, the money rolls over and gets added to the next week’s jackpot, and a new number is chosen. However, we haven’t had any rollovers yet.
Look for the Hi-Lo game to return in the future!
