UPDATE: Paullina Water Advisory LIFTED On Sunday

Paullina, Iowa — The Paullina wells have been connected back into the city’s water system and the water advisory has been lifted.

Paullina City Clerk Sandy Fritz tells us that flooding the week of September 19th took out a line east of Paullina along Highway 10, which runs from the city’s wells east of town and supplies the water treatment plant and the water tower. She says that on Saturday, September 22, a contractor was able to establish a new connection for the water main, but lab tests of water carried by the new connection kept failing. That is, until this Sunday, September 30th.

O’Brien County EMA advises that they received notice that the water tests from the water main in Paullina successfully passed on Saturday and Sunday. They say the regular water supply has been restored, and the water advisory has been canceled.

O’Brien County EMA and the City of Paullina say they greatly appreciate your patience and understanding throughout the past week.

In the interim, a tanker truck had been hauling clean water from Primghar to Paullina to maintain the water supply and people were asked to drink bottled water and conserve as much as possible. With the advisory lifted, the water situation should be back to normal in Paullina.
