UPDATE With Victim Identity: Remsen Farm Accident Claims Life

Remsen, Iowa — Plymouth County authorities have identified the victim of a grain bin accident that happened Tuesday night near Remsen.

Authorities say they were called to a rural Remsen farm Tuesday evening to the report of an individual stuck in a grain bin. Plymouth County authorities say rescue efforts were attempted, but the individual, who is now identified as 65-year old Lee E. Grage, was found deceased inside the grain bin.

Remsen, Iowa — A farming accident near Remsen Tuesday night has claimed a life.

According to the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call just after 7:20 Tuesday night, indicating that a subject was stuck in a grain bin at a farmstead south of Remsen.

Authorities say Plymouth County deputies responded, along with Remsen Fire, Le Mars Fire, Kingsley Fire, Marcus Fire, Kingsley Ambulance, Remsen Ambulance, Kingsley Police Department, and Mercy Air Care.

The Sheriff’s office says rescue efforts were attempted, but the individual was found deceased inside the grain bin.

Authorities say the name of the victim will be released at a later time, due to pending family notification.
