Ribbon Cut On $5 Million Clinic In Rock Rapids

Rock Rapids, Iowa — The new $5 million Sanford Clinic in northwest Rock Rapids is open for business, and the ribbon has been cut.

A good-sized crowd was on hand at the Sanford Rock Rapids Clinic on Saturday afternoon, to hear a short presentation and witness the blue ribbon being cut, with the scissors wielded by the clinic’s Physician’s Assistant, Brenda Vis. Vis tells us her thoughts on the occasion.

She gives us an idea of what the facility has to offer.

The facility has ten clinical exam rooms, two procedure rooms with ultrasound and telemedicine capabilities, an x-ray area with a new digital x-ray machine, a CT-scanner, and a larger physical therapy area. In fact, Tracy Schultz, the facility’s Ambulatory Nursing Supervisor says that when they were getting the clinic ready, workers would often say that they had never seen a clinic with so many services under the same roof. In fact, Vis says the facility will be a model for future Sanford clinics.

The open house included tours of the facility, which is located at 104 Buncombe Drive in Rock Rapids, on Highway 9 on the city’s west side — across the highway from West Side Park. The clinic opened on May first.
