Seasons Center Gets $600k CDBG For O’Brien County Camp

O’Brien County, Iowa — Several months ago we told you about plans by Seasons Center for Behavioral Health to acquire a 159 acre farm in O’Brien County, including a 30-acre man-made lake, to use as a therapeutic camp for children.  That dream came closer to reality this week with the announcement that Seasons Center had been awarded a $600-thousand Community Development Block Grant to be used toward the acquisition of that land.

Kim Scorza, the Executive Director of Seasons Center, says they’re very excited about the news of the grant.

Scorza tells us exactly what the grant funds will be used for.

She says they hope to be able to use the camp beginning in the spring of 2017.

Scorza says Seasons Center wants to recognize the Iowa Economic Development Authority, Seasons Center Board of Directors, Seasons Center Advisory Board, the O’Brien County Board of Supervisors, and the Phil and Jen Elgersma family for helping the project reach this point.
