Sheldon Students To Compete At State Science Fair

science fair 1Sheldon, Iowa — One Sheldon High School student, and six Sheldon Middle School students, along with their teachers, will travel to Ames for the 2017 Iowa State Science Fair, which is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, March 30th and 31st.

Sheldon High School Science Teacher Kris Groff talked about the project his student is taking to the Science Fair.

He says the younger Groff has also qualified to compete at the International Science Fair.

In addition to Groff representing Sheldon High School, six students, comprising three teams of two, will take part in the State Middle School Science Fair. Middle School Science Teacher Jim Gude tells us about the first team, and their project.

Gude says middle school team two will be working with fast food for their project.

He says the third team from Sheldon Middle School selected livestock feed as their project.

The Iowa State Science Fair is scheduled for Thursday for high school students, and Friday for middle schoolers, with both sessions being held on the floor of Hilton Coliseum, on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames.
