Battle Creek, Iowa — An explosion and fire Wednesday morning north of Battle Creek destroyed a house and left three people seriously injured.
Ida County Sheriff Wade Harriman says the explosion happened around 9:30 Wednesday morning and the house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
All three individuals were transported by ambulance to area hospitals. Harriman says the State Fire Marshal’s office is conducting the investigation.
The names of the three people that were injured haven’t been released.
