Support Group For Special Needs Parents To Meet At Archer Reformed

Archer, Iowa — If you are the parent or caregiver of a child with special needs, a support group is being formed for you and others in your situation.

Angela Palmer of Sheldon is spearheading a new group, called O’Brien County Parents/Caregivers of Children with Special Needs. She tells that the idea for the group was planted when she took part in Iowa Family Leadership Training in August.

She says their theme will be “It Takes A Village.”

According to Palmer, the idea is for the group to meet monthly.

Palmer says that it’s her hope that the support group will start with O’Brien County, but will branch out into Sioux, Osceola, and Lyon counties at some point.

If you’re interested, Palmer says you can just show up at any meeting at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of any month at the Archer Reformed Church. For more information, she says you can contact her via email at takesavillage51201@gmail.com, or call her at 712-324-9714.
