Three Taken To Hospital After Accident

Hull, Iowa — Three people were taken to a hospital after a crash on Thursday morning near Hull.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 8:20 AM, 50-year-old Myra Modder of George was driving a 2005 Ford Freestyle northbound on Hickory Avenue a mile north of Hull. They say 25-year-old Jillian Meyer of Boyden was driving a 2003 GMC Envoy southbound on Hickory Avenue when she lost control of the vehicle, which entered the northbound lane and struck Modder.

Modder and Meyer became trapped in their vehicles and were freed by mechanical extrication by the Hull Fire Department.

The Hull Ambulance took Modder to Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley. The Hull and Rock Valley Ambulance services took Meyer and a passenger, 53-year-old Chrystal Meyer of Boyden to Hegg Memorial Hospital as well.

The Modder Ford sustained approximately $7,000 in damages. The Meyer GMC sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages.

The Sheriff’s Office reports the Hull Fire Department, Hull Ambulance crew and Rock Valley Ambulance crew assisted on the scene.

They say the accident remains under investigation.
