Paullina, Iowa — A four-wheel drive tractor was damaged in a fire on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 near Paullina.
According to Paullina Fire Chief Brent Nooteboom, about 9:00 a.m., the Paullina Fire Department was called to the report of a tractor fire two and a half miles north of Highway 10 on L40.
The chief says the fire department saw the tractor on fire, but says it was mostly extinguished when they got there. He says they did spray some water on the fire to extinguish it and cool the tractor.
Nooteboom says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire is undetermined.
Chief Nooteboom reports that there was moderate damage to the newer 4-wheel-drive tractor.
He says they used about 100 gallons of water to fight the fire, and crews were on scene for about a half hour.
