Tractor Damaged In Fire Near Rock Valley

Rock Valley, Iowa — A tractor was damaged in a fire on Monday, June 6, 2016 near Rock Valley.

According to Rock Valley Fire Chief Brent Eshuis, about 2:30 PM, the Rock Valley Fire Department was called to the report of tractor fire two miles south and a mile and a half west of Rock Valley on a gravel road.

As they approached the scene, he says the fire department saw that the farmers had the fire practically out with extinguishers. He says they used about five gallons of water to make sure the fire was out.

Eshuis says there were no reports of injury.

He says the cause of the fire appeared to be electrical in nature.

Chief Eshuis reports that the tractor was not drive-able after the fire.

He says crews were on scene for about fifteen minutes.
