Hartley, Iowa– A tractor was destroyed in a fire on Saturday, November 5, 2016 near Hartley.
According to Hartley Fire Chief Kevin Soden, about 6:20 PM, the Hartley Fire Department was called to the report of a tractor fire at Austin Peterson’s farm at 6913 360th Street, four miles south and three east of Hartley.
The chief says the fire department saw the older Case-IH 7110 tractor was fully-engulfed as they approached the scene. He says they used water and foam to fight the fire.
Soden says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
He says they used about 1,000 gallons of water to fight the fire, and crews were on scene for about an hour.
