Trimming Of Tree Leads To Fire

Sheldon, Iowa– A tree was damaged in a fire on Monday, June 20, 2016 in Sheldon.
According to Sheldon Fire Chief Jerry Meyer, about 8:43 PM, the Sheldon Fire Company was called to the report of a tree fire at 1518 Pleasant Court Drive in Sheldon.
The chief says a person was trimming a tree branch when it fell on a power line and started burning. He says the power company was called and they cleared the line.
No injuries were reported.
He says the Fire Company was there standing by for about 15 minutes and then went back to the station.
