Iowa State Patrol Trooper Vince Kurtz tells us about the Patrol’s “Safety First, Then The 4th” campaign.

Kurtz says many motorists will be towing campers, boats, and the like this weekend, which will require a greater stopping distance than your vehicle alone.

And, Trooper Kurtz says, the holiday weekend will bring out more motorcycles, as well.

He says if your holiday celebration plans include alcohol, please remember a designated driver.

Kurtz says the Iowa State Patrol reminds you that you should reach your destination first, then enjoy your time.  He says the Iowa State Patrol, along with many other area city and county law enforcement officers, will be out enforcing traffic laws, making sure it’s a safe weekend for everyone.
