Two Sanford Sheldon Nurses Named To 100 Great Iowa Nurses List

Sheldon, Iowa — A pair of nurses from the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center have been named among the 100 Great Nurses in Iowa for 2018, by the website, greatnurses.org.

The nurses from Sanford Sheldon who were named to this year’s list are Joni De Kok, and Judy Kuiper. Sanford Sheldon Administrator Rick Nordahl says he couldn’t be more proud of De Kok and Kuiper and the work they do.

Nordahl says the nomination papers were sent in last fall, and the pair were notified late last week.

He says the naming of Kuiper and De Kok to the 100 Great Nurses list says a lot about Sanford Sheldon.

Nordahl says the pair will be receiving their awards during a ceremony in May.

The website greatnurses.org says the award recognizes nurses that have made meaningful, lasting contributions to their patients, colleagues, and the nursing profession, and are viewed as mentors to other nursing professionals. The website goes on to say that the 2018 honorees exemplify all the principles on which the 100 Great Nurses Celebration was founded.
