VNU Athletes At State Special Olympics This Weekend

Sheldon, Iowa — Several athletes from Village Northwest Unlimited are among the 25-hundred athletes competing in the Iowa Special Olympics this weekend at Hilton Coliseum, on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames.

Village Northwest Director of Development Lisa Johnson says the Village is well represented at this year’s Special Olympics Iowa.

Johnson says the contingent from Village Northwest will be participating in a wide variety of sporting events.

She says that all the VNU athletes who are in Ames this weekend earned the right to represent Village Northwest by finishing first in the event at District competition.

Special Olympics Iowa began Thursday, and continues through Saturday at Hilton Coliseum in Ames.
