Knowledge Nugget:

10 years ago this fall, Starbucks was experimenting with a beer-flavored coffee called a dark barrel latte in a handful of stores in Ohio and Florida. The coffee tasted like a dark, stout beer but had no alcohol content.

The Dark Barrel Latte failed to become a permanent menu item, primarily because the combination of beer and coffee flavors did not appeal to customers.
