Area Well Represented on IHSBCA All State Baseball Teams

baseballThe Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association have released their All State Baseball Teams for 2015. Area teams were well represented in Class 1A with a second team honoree in Class 2A.

In class 1A West Sioux placed a pair on the first team with Porter Hummel claiming a spot on the pitching staff and Kezden Blankenship named to the outfield.

Remsen St Mary’s had a pair named to the first team as well with Brady Harpenau earning a spot as a catcher and Elliott Conover earning a utility spot. His team mate Jacob Wesselmann earned a spot on the second team pitching staff.

Also named to the second team were third baseman Ty Kurth and outfielder Jarod Steffes both from LeMars Gehlen.

In Class 2A Catcher Christian Rozeboom of Sioux Center was named to the second team.

2015 IHSBCA Super Team All-State

An All Star series of games were played on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Thursday the small school west team defeated the large school west team 5-4. On Friday the large school east topped the small school west team 9-0. On Saturday the small school west knocked off the small school east 7-6. On Sunday the large school east got by the small school west team 7-6 in the series championship game. For his efforts Elliott Conover of Remsen St Mary’s was named the small school west MVP.
