Dordt, NWC Sweep GPAC Volleyball Honors

Sioux City, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played September 10-16, 2018. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2018-2019 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week

Attacker – Lauryn Hilger, Northwestern College (Outside Hitter)

Northwestern’s Lauryn Hilger is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Hilger, a senior, from Omaha, Nebraska, hit .500 and put down 4.9 kills per set against #12 Dordt and (RV) Jamestown. She recorded double figures in both matches and has hit for 10+ kills in 13 of the 15 matches played. She also averaged two digs per set (totaled 14) and served four aces for the 16th-ranked Red Raiders.

Setter- Jamie De Jager, Dordt College

Jamie De Jager of Dordt College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. De Jager, a senior from Sioux Center, Iowa, guided the Defenders to a pair of wins last week, including a 3-1 win over 16th-ranked Northwestern. She finished with week with a total of 79 assists, averaging 11.29 assists per set. In addition, she had four blocks, three kills and a pair of ace serves for the 12th-ranked Defenders.

Defender – Aubrey Drake, Dordt College (Libero)

Dordt’s Aubrey Drake is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Drake, a senior from Rock Island, Illinois, had 14 digs in a win against Northwestern and 24 digs in a sweep of Dakota Wesleyan. For the week she also added two ace serves for the 12th-ranked Defenders.
