Fink, Wacker Earn GPAC Volleyball Honors

Sioux City, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played September 23-29, 2019. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2019-2020 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week

Attacker – Makenzie Fink, Northwestern College (Right Side)

Northwestern’s Makenzie Fink is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Fink, a junior, from Lanark, Illinois, led No.2 Northwestern to a perfect 3-0 record last week. Fink hit a team-best .420 and put down 4.0 kills per set in leading her team to wins over Dakota Wesleyan, York and #13 Jamestown. She .400 and went for double figures in kills in the wins over Dakota Wesleyan and Jamestown. Against the Jimmies Fink put down a match-high 16 kills while the Red Raiders gave the Jimmies their first loss in conference play.

Setter- Lacey Wacker, Northwestern College

Lacey Wacker of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Wacker, a senior from Jackson, Minnesota, averaged 13.4 assists per set and directed a Red Raider offense that hit .306 in wins over Dakota Wesleyan, York and 13th-ranked Jamestown. Wacker put up 63 assists, the second most of her career, in the 3-1 win over Dakota Wesleyan. She then put up 38 assists in the Red Raiders 3-0 sweep over Jamestown.
