Football Broadcast Preview for Friday September 14th

Northwest Iowa — Week four marks the end of non district play for Iowa high school football teams. For Boyden Hull Rock Valley it’s the fourth week in a row they’ve had to square off against a ranked opponent. The Nighthawks who are top ranked in Class 2A will be at Sergeant Bluff Luton who is ranked number 10 in the 3A poll. Sheldon is at Estherville Lincoln Central in a battle of 2-1 teams.

For the second week in a row the Orabs will be on the road. They’re coming off a loss at LeMars last Friday. The Midgets dropped a road contest to Unity Christian last week.

Head Coach Tyler Lloyd says defensively read and react is the battle cry this week.

Lloyd feels the key above all else this week is turnover margin.

Midgets Head Coach Ryan Rezac sees the challenges presented by the Orabs this way.

For the Midgets to win all 11 on both offense and defense will need to work together.

Kory Roos joins LA to bring you the coverage again this year on KIWA AM 1550 and FM 100.7.

Unbeaten Boyden Hull Rock Valley travels to 2-1 Sergeant Bluff Luton Friday night. The Nighthawks are coming off a home win against West Lyon while The Warriors are coming off a home shut out over Sioux City East.

Nighthawks Head Coach Corey Brandt says when it comes to the Warriors there’s a lot of things that stand out but the most impressive is their team speed.

For Boyden Hull Rock Valley to get a win this week it will require a total team effort.

With both teams in the same 3A district not that long ago there is some familiarity between the two teams but for Warriors Head Coach Justin Smith it’s more about mutual respect.

Coach Smith also talked about a unique ability that Boyden Hull Rock Valley possesses.

Jon and Justin Hellinga bring you season long coverage of the Nighthawks on KIWA FM 105.3.

Pregame for both begins at 6:05 with the Radio Iowa Scouting Report with opening kick off at 7:00. Following our game coverage listen in for the scoreboard show from 10:00 to 11:30 on KIWA AM 1550 and FM 100.7.
