Nighthawks Top Orabs in Extras

nighthawk logoSheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Orabs fell to the Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley Nighthawks 6-3 in 9 innings on Thursday night in Sheldon.

The Nighthawks got on the board early in the 1st inning. With the bases loaded Shane Solberg would come in to score off of a Brett Moser walk. Davis Van Egdom would come into score two batters later after Dylan VanDer Brink was hit by a pitch, and Mitchell Diekevers would run home after a Quinn Bundy grounder to second to make it 3-0 in the 1st inning. The Orabs would wedge their way back into the game after Payton Radke would drove in Gage Bassett to make it 3-1 Nighthawks in the third. Sheldon would even things up in the 4th after a 2-run double by Cody Van Meeteren to make the score 3-3. The game would go into extra innings and in the top of the ninth, Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley would add three more runs and come away with the 6-3 win. Dylan VanDer Brink, Quinn Bundy and Shane Solberg all reached and scored for the Nighthawks in the 9th.

Jackson Mulder got the win for the Nighthawks, going 2 innings, walking 1 batter and striking out another.

Tyler Johnson took the loss, giving up one earned run and three hits in 2 innings of work.
