Saturday Morning Tee Box For August 24th

Good morning and welcome to our program and your Saturday Morning Tee Box here on KIWA 105.3. We are bringing you our 17th week of the 2019 season. August is quite busy so let’s take a look at your options coming up to get out and play this great game at some of our local courses. First let’s say thank you to our sponsors each week; New to us this season is Dixon Golf proudly getting involved in many golf tournaments and events to help make them bigger and better. Adam Coates teaching Pro at the Spencer Country Club, The Station in Hull with many new and used Club Car and Yamaha golf carts at great prices. Le Mars Willow Creek : For The week league tee box schedule will be Women on Tuesday at 5pm, Wednesdays tee box goes to the Men. Men play again Thursdays. August 31st is the Patriot day event 4 person scramble with proceeds to help support disable or deceased families for college scholarships. Then on Sept 2nd the Labor Day Amateur is played, call for tee times, 18 holes to be played with 27 holes for Championship flight. The course always has room to play contact them at

Sibley Municipal Golf Course: They finish the month with a 2 man 3 way today off the box at 9am brought to you by Northwestern Mutual. Ladies League day is Wednesdays at 4:45 and Men Play League Thursdays and Lots going on at Sibley more in September. The 7th is the Kiwanis Tourney starts at noon, the 14th is high Plains Dairy 3 man 8” cup at 9 am. With more to come.

Paullina Golf Course: Today is a 2 person calcutta at 9am. League play for the season with Men on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and Women Play on Wednesdays all tee off at 5pm. Sept 2nd is their Labor Day Couples starting at 4pm. The 3rd is Northwest Iowa Seniors ya need to call on this one, and the 7th is a 3 person 8” cup event …. Get in these and enjoy Paullina.

Otter Valley Golf and Country Club: They have Women’s league on Tuesdays at 5pm and Men Play Wednesday and Thursdays at 3:30 and 5:30 pm.,

The Ridge in Sioux Center: They will have Ladies League plays in the afternoon, Men’s league play Tuesday and Wednesday and the Women will play again on Thursdays. The 18 hole travel league plays Wed also. The Ridge Club Senior championship is played on the 26th with lots happening at the Ridge in Sx. Center yet in September. Such as the FCS How to store day is Sept 10th the Siouxland Invitational is on the 12th the Family Crisis Center day, and the Ridge 2 perso shamble is the 15th at The Ridge in Sioux Ctr.

Spencer Golf and Country Club: League play is Women Tuesdays, Men on Thursdays which is the big night of 2 man teams teeing off at 6pm. Couples play Fridays. Sept. 6th -8th is the University of Okoboji Couples tournament get in on this. This is their 100th year of Providing fine golf and services to the golfer and enjoy some very neat stuff happening at Spencer Country Club, such as a new 100.00 social membership to enjoy the newly remodeled restaurant and lounge managed by Deb Jaycox. Remsen Country Club: For the week, Leagues will be played with Women on Mondays, Men play Tuesday and Thursdays. This a very fun course to play. Check with Russ at Remsen to see what else is going on they did not do an event calendar.

Silver Lake C. C. at Lake Park: The Men’s and Women’s Club tourney is Saturday and Sunday at the Silver Lake Country Club at Lake Park. For the week leagues will be played with Senior women at 8am, Couples Monday afternoon, Tuesday men play. Each Wednesday evening at 5pm you can enjoy Taco Night with them. Their now 100.00 membership special is a big hit. Just rent carts. They will host the Savings Bank 3 person the 24th and into September Sept 7th is the Gunderson 4 person event at Lake Park.

Emerald Hills at Arnold’s Park: For the week women are on the box on Monday’s, Men play Wednesdays leagues. August 25th is the Abben Cancer Center Classic 4 person best shot event. They to will host the U of O couples tourney event on Sept 6-8th 1pm Fri, 1pm Sat and 8am on Sunday to finish it up, Sept 12th is the Iowa/Iowa State Golf Clash day the 14th is the Emerald Hills 8” cup 4 person best shot at Emerald Hills.

Sioux Golf in Alton: League play At Sioux Golf goes like this, Women Monday and Tuesday, Men are Wednesday and Thursday. More events to come in August such as a Cancer Benefit Day for Dave Schouten on the 24th, and a Golden Girls day on August 26th at Sioux Golf this summer.

Brooks Golf : Daily leagues are played during the week, Sept 2nd is the Sportsmans Charity Classic and the 8th is a 4 man extreme 2 cup event to play also. There is always room to play sine they are 27 hole course. Get in and play this beautiful course. Go online @

Spencer Municipal: For the week Leagues play out like this, Tues 8:30 am is early bird ladies and 5:15 ladies again. Wednesday is 4pm Men’s League, Thurs has Senior Men at 8:30am, Men again at 3pm. Couples play at 6 on Fridays. September 8th is the Carl Spackler starting at 9:15am and the 14th is a One person best shot to play in. More to come for them at Spencer Municipal.

Prairie Rose in Brunsville: The leagues will play during the week with Men Senior League 9a and at 6p the Women will play Monday. Tuesday is the summer best ball league at 5:30 pm. Men again on Thursdays. September 14th is a 2 person scrambe off the box at 4pm, and the 15th is an 8”cup tourney off the box at 10 am. Get out to this little, golf, secret in Brunsville Iowa.

Okoboji View: League play goes like this, Women at 4:30p on Mondays, 2 man Peoria Steak night play is on Tuesday evenings through the 25th of Sept. Thursday puts the Men on the box 5:30pm for guys 9 hole league. Sept 6-8th they too also are a part of the U of O Couples Tourney Event, The 15th is the wacky 3 person best ball event to get in to. This is a wonderful course to enjoy while at the Iowa Great Lakes. September has some events coming so, Go to the web at

Marcus Community Golf Club: Today is the MAC 8” cup event at Marcus. They have league play with Women play Monday at 3pm, Men are Tues. and Thurs. afternoon, and Wednesday for Men at 9am. MMCRU 4 person Fundraiser Day is Sept 7th at Marcus. Sept 14th is Iowa/Iowa State football game day , come and enjoy the game at the course.

Landsmeer, in Orange City: They end August calendar with the Landsmeer Shootout 3 person format at noon on the 25th. Go online at For the week, leagues will be like this: Women Tuesday at 5pm, Men Wednesday at 5pm.

Meadow Brook at Hartley: Leagues are played with Men on Monday at 4:30, Men again Tuesday at 3:30, Kids Golf Academy is Wednesdays from 9-11a, then Men’s Day is Wednesday, Women Play Thurs at 5:30. September 7th has the R T Smith 4 person best ball 8” cup off the box at 10am. Stay tuned to September for more to come.

Sanborn Golf and Country Club: Tomorrow is Their annual Champagne 2 ball invite. For the week they have men’s league on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Gals are Thursdays all at 4pm. September 7th has a 4 person best ball 8′ cup to play in. Ray Jean welcomes you to the clubhouse and is always ready to serve you at Sanborn.

Sheldon Golf and Country Club: Today is the 4 man 8 in cup to end August with a 9am shotgun start. For the week fall league play in Sheldon has Men 3 man best ball at 5:30pm, The PBR 4 person 8” cup is to be played in Sept with a time tbd.
