Saturday Morning Tee Box For July 13th

Good morning and welcome to the Saturday Morning Tee Box here on KIWA 105.3. We are here for our 11th week of the season. Let’s go over your options to get out and play this game we all love. But first these are all your sponsors each week; New to us this season is Dixon Golf proudly getting involved in many golf tournaments and events to help make them bigger and better. Here is a little bit more about Dixon Golf and what they can do for you.

Prairie Rose in Brunsville: The leagues will play during the week with Men Senior League 9a and at 6p the Women will play Monday. Tuesday is the summer best ball league at 5:30 pm. Men again on Thursdays. The 21st of July is the Brunsville open this is a singles event with a 10am shotgun start.So anyone can get in on this event.

Okoboji View: League play goes like this, Women at 4:30p on Mondays, 2 man Peoria Steak night play is on Tuesday evenings through the 25th of Sept. Thursday puts the Men on the box 5:30pm for guys 9 hole league. This is a wonderful course to enjoy while at the Iowa Great Lakes. Go to the web at

Marcus Community Golf Club: They have league play with Women play Monday at 3pm, Men are Tues. and Thurs. afternoon, and Wednesday for Men at 9am. Juniors play on Fridays. The 20th is Husman’s day at Marcus, and the 28th they host a Couple’s 2 ball.

Landsmeer, in Orange City: Tomorrow is a 3person summer Shamble to play in at 1pm. And for the week, leagues will be like this: Women Tuesday at 5pm, Men Wednesday at 5pm. The 26th of July is the Glow Ball 4 person scramble event starts at 6pm. Go online at

Meadow Brook at Hartley: Today is the Men’s Open 18 hole tourney, with another 9 holes for Championship flight call for a tee time. Leagues are played with Men on Monday at 4:30, Men again Tuesday at 3:30, Kids Golf Academy is Wednesdays from 9-11a, then Men’s Day is Wednesday, Women Play Thurs at 5:30. The 19th is the Baum Harmon Memorial Benefit Golf day at 4pm with silent auction to follow at Hartley.

Sanborn Golf and Country Club: For the week they have men’s league on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Gals are Thursdays all at 4pm. July 20th is an Adult/Youth day to play and the 26th is Sanborn Chamber day at Sanborn. Ray Jean is in the clubhouse and is always ready to help you complete your experience at Sanborn.

Le Mars Willow Creek : For The week league tee box schedule will be Women on Tuesday at 5pm, Wednesdays tee box goes to the Men. Men play again Thursdays. The 21st is the Le Mars city tournament tee times are needed for this one also. The course always has room to play contact them at

Sibley Municipal Golf Course: Ladies League day is Wednesdays at 4:45 and Men Play League Thursdays. The Horse race Calcutta will be played July 14th starting at noon. Sibley vs Sheldon Ryder cup will be played at Sibley on the 27th good luck to these guys. The 29th has a Ladies Senior tourney off the box at 9am for the day.

Paullina Golf Course: Today has a 4 person best ball on the course call for a tee time for this one. League play for the season with Men on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and Women Play on Wednesdays all tee off at 5pm. and enjoy Paullina.

Otter Valley Golf and Country Club: The Otter Valley course has their Club Tourney today on the course. They have Women’s league on Tuesdays at 5pm and Men Play Wednesday and Thursdays at 3:30 and 5:30 pm., Then on the 17th is a 4 gal best ball invitational teeing off at 9am. The 24th is a Senior over 50 Tournament starting at 10am. Coming up July 26th and 27th they have the Ryder Cup competition between them and Hull taking place at both courses. The Ridge in Sioux Center: They will have Summer High School league on Monday Mornings, Ladies League plays in the afternoon, Men’s league play Tuesday and Wednesday and the Women will play again on Thursdays. The 18 hole travel league plays Wed also. PGA Jr. League team practice is Wednesdays also.. PGA Junior leaue play is tomorrow and again the 14th. American State banks Dakota tour Am July 11, 12 and finishes up on the 13th , the ATLAS Fundraiser day is the 15th and Farmer’s Co-op Day is July 19th at The Ridge. July 21st a 4 person shamble also. Golf Fore Kids camp takes place the 22nd-25th. Coming up for the first time in NW Iowa is the Iowa Amateur, held at the Ridge July 26, 27 and 28th. This is usually held in Des Moines and they are coming up here for the first time. Congratulations to The Ridge and good luck competitors.

Spencer Golf and Country Club: League play is Women Tuesdays, Men on Thursdays which is the big night of 2 man teams teeing off at 6pm. Couples play Fridays. This is their 100th year and have some very neat stuff happening such as a new 100.00 social membership to enjoy the newly remodeled restaurant and lounge managed by Deb Jaycox. The Nortwest Amateur is coming up in August this big for them, Go to for more.

Remsen Country Club: Tomorrow has a 3 person best ball 8” cup event playing Remsen with tee times needed our is 8:20 Skip and I are playing with our 3rd being Ron Prostrollo for the day. Ron has never played Remsen I think he should enjoy it. For the week, Leagues will be played with Women on Mondays, Men play Tuesday and Thursdays. This a very fun course to play. Check with Russ at Remsen to see what else is going on they did not do an event calendar.

Silver Lake C. C. at Lake Park: The Neimeier horse race plays out today at Lake Park. For the week leagues will be played with Senior women at 8am, Couples Monday afternoon, Tuesday men play. Each Wednesday evening at 5pm you can enjoy Taco Night with them. They now offer 100.00 membership specials to play the course just rent carts. Been a big hit for them. The Stateline senior tour plays at 7am on Monday July 15th. July 27th has the Consumers 2 couple 2 ball at 8am. And the 28th is a Parent/Child day at Lake Park.

Emerald Hills at Arnold’s Park: For the week women are on the box on Monday’s, Men play Wednesdays leagues. The 16th has 4 gal Best Shot to play for the gals and 21st is the Jake 4 person ABCD Okoboji Shootout to play at Emerald Hills. The 28th is the 27th Annual Parent/Child best shot Tourney with 9 and 18 hole divisions.

Sioux Golf in Alton: Tomorrow is a couples 2 ball to play at Alton if ya call they may still have room in this one. League play At Sioux Golf goes like this, Women Monday and Tuesday, Men are Wednesday and Thursday. More events to come at Sioux Golf this summer.

Brooks Golf : Daily leagues are played during the week, however there is always room to play sine they are 27 hole course. Get in and play this beautiful course. July 27th is the Okoboji Open at brooks so jump on your chance to play at brooks. Go online @

Spencer Municipal: Leagues play out like this, Tues 8:30 am is early bird ladies and 5:15 ladies again. Wednesday is 4pm Men’s League, Thurs has Senior Men at 8:30am, Men again at 3pm. Couples play at 6 on Fridays. July 20th is an American Legion 4 person best shot event at Spencer Municipal

Sheldon Golf and Country Club: Today is Langer’s 3 person Best Ball teeing off at 9am. For the week league play in Sheldon has Men at 3:45 and 6 on Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm. Ladies league on Wednesdays at 6pm.. Couples Play every other Friday. I do believe the Ryder Cup between Sheldon and Sibley plays on the 27th at Sibley. The Sheldon Club Tourney is coming up on Aug. 3rd in Sheldon.
