Sheldon and MMC/RU Boys Basketball Teams to Scrimmage for ALS Fundraiser

Basketball scoreboardSheldon Iowa — The Sheldon Boys Basketball team, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Remsen-Union Boys Basketball team and StandAid of Iowa are teaming up to raise money for the ALS Foundation. They will be selling raffle tickets and drawing one winner of a brand new 32 GB Apple iPad Air 2 at halftime of the Sheldon and MMC-RU basketball Pride Scrimmage on Friday November 25th. Tickets are $5 for one ticket, or $10 for 3. Tickets can be purchased through members of the Sheldon or MMC-RU basketball teams and also in the Sheldon High School office. The winner of the raffle does not need to be present to win, and will be contacted after the game if they are not present.

As a part of the Iowa Hall of Pride Challenge, $250 raised will be donated to the Richard Jacobson Education Fund at the Iowa Hall of Pride. The remainder of the money raised will be donated directly to the ALS Foundation in conjunction with the annual StandAid Chilli Cookoff. StandAid of Iowa has graciously donated the iPad to be given away.

The basketball game will take place Friday November 25th with the Sheldon and MMC-RU JV boys beginning play at 3:00 with the Varsity to follow at 4:30 at the Sheldon High School gym. Admittance to the game will be a freewill donation going to the ALS Foundation. More prizes will be made available at the game.
