Sports Scores From Tuesday May 31st

ighsauNorthwest Iowa — Girls tournament play highlighted the sports schedule for Tuesday. The Girls State Golf Meets opened a two day run. It was also opening night for Class 1A Region 1 Soccer.


Class 1A at Jester Park Golf Course in Granger
Akron Westfield is in second place after the first round of play. The Westerners shot a team total 364 and trail first round leader New London who put together a first round 337. Individually Hannah Sieperda of Central Lyon fired a first round 96. The first round leader was in at 73.


Class 2A at Jester Park Golf Course in Granger
Unity Christian is in second after the first round. The Knights fired a team total 358. Chanda Zomermaand led the Knights with an 83. Alyssa Fedders fired an 84, Kate Fessler a 94, Ava Grossmann 97, Justine Malenke a 99 and Chloe Krommendyk carded a 126. Alta Aurelia has the first round lead at 342.

Individually for Unity Chanda Zomermaand is tied for 4th with a first round 83. Alyssa Fedders 84 has her in 6th. Hannah Butler of Okoboji is in a tie for second at 82 and Kenzi Vlotho of Rock Valley fired a first round 94.


Class 3A at Coldwater Links in Ames
MOC Floyd Valley is 8th after the first round of play with a team total 399. Atlantic is the first round leader at 359. Josie Van Roekel and Lauren Weber led the Lady Dutch at 95. Alexa Arends was in at 103, Emma DeJong at 113 and Marin McDonough fired a 117.
