Northwest Iowa — It’s a rare quiet day for high school athletics. The State Softball Tournament opens next Monday in Fort Dodge.
With a break in baseball tournaments the only action for the three far northwest Iowa conferences is a regular season baseball game featuring Denison Schleswig at Storm Lake. Baseball tournament play resumes with the District semifinal round in Class 1A on Thursday. Class 3A opens with the District semifinal round on Friday night. Class 2A District finals are scheduled for Saturday.
