Northwest Iowa — State Track and Field qualifying was held Thursday for area boys and girls athletes.

Automatic Orab qualifiers for state included Keri Siebrecht who finished first in the wheel chair competition in the shot put with a toss of 11′ 01″. Siebrecht also won the 100 meters in 25.32, the 200 meters in 53.34 and the 400 meters in 01:53.9. Ashlyn Albrecht won the long jump at 17′ 01″. Second place finishes included Kacy Kamphoff in the 400 meters at 01:04.2, Bryn Groff in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.24 and Anessa Schoo in the 3000 meters with a time of 12:00.0.

Automatic qualifiers for the Sheldon boys included the 4 x 110 shuttle hurdle relay team that finished second in 1:00.99. Team members included Brandon Winkel, Ben Jongewaard, Quinton Wynia and Jaden Kleinhesselink. Tyler Lode was second in the high jump at 6-00.00.
