Timmermans Signs With Dordt

Corrina Timmermans, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender volleyball program.

Timmermans has over 1,100 career kills for the Knights and has averaged just over four kills per set for the Knights this season. She has a .345 kill efficiency entering tournament play and averages 2.92 digs per set with 23 service aces. She’s a 5-11 outside hitter and has started for the Knights for four seasons.

“Corrina is a tremendous athlete showing explosive power with her attack and refined all-around skills. She is versatile, having played all six rotations in her career. She was recruited by many different schools in the NAIA and NCAA. We are thrilled she will join us in August 2019 as she has an exciting future of volleyball ahead of her. She loves the Lord and will be a wonderful fit to our campus and community,” said Dordt College volleyball coach Chad Hanson.

She’s helped Unity to four straight conference titles and state tournament berths in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Timmermans earned first-team all-state honors in 2017 and second-team accolades in 2016 and was a first-team all-conference selection in both of those seasons. She’s earned first-team all-area honors from the Sioux City Journal and Northwest Iowa Review and was a first-team all-state selection by the Des Moines Register.

Corrina is the daughter of Ken and Patty Timmermans of Orange City, Iowa.
