Atlanta Georgia — The Atlanta Falcons announced Friday that they have promoted outside linebacker Tyler Starr to the 53-man roster from the practice squad, and placed center James Stone on injured reserve.
Starr, 6-5, 250 pounds, was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round (255th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft out of South Dakota. In 2014, he was a member of the Falcons 53-man roster, but did not see any game action. He has spent the first 14 weeks of the 2015 season as a member of the Falcons practice squad.
Starr is a native of Little Rock and excelled at the high school level for Central Lyon George Little Rock.
Stone, 6-3, 291 pounds was originally signed by the Falcons as a college free agent following the 2014 NFL Draft out of Tennessee.
The Falcons will be at Jacksonville Sunday for a 12:00 noon kick off Central time.
