Unity Advances With Win Over Alta/Aurelia

unity logoRock Valley, Iowa — Unity Christian and Alta/Aurelia opened up the Class 2A District 1 tournament trail in Rock Valley on Monday night. The first of our broadcast doubleheader went to the Unity Christian Knights 66 – 42.

The Knights would establish their presence in the paint and beyond the arc early, jumping to a 17 – 2 lead. By the end of the first, Unity’s advantage would be 27 – 9, with 7 different players scoring in the opening quarter. By halftime, the Knights lead was 36-19 over the Warriors.  After three it was 52-31 in favor of Unity, and they would go onto win 66-42.

The Knights had 3 players in double figures, 10 points each for Cole Vande Vegte, Adam Viet, and Brandon Visser. Alta/Aurelia received a game high 20 points from Carson Kruger, along with a dozen from Ryan Radke.

Unity Christian improves to 12-10 on the year. Alta/Aurelia ends their season at 10-12.

Unity Christian will take on Sioux Center Thursday night at 8:00 pm in Sioux Center in the Class 2A District 1 Semifinals.
