The high school indoor track season continues on Saturday with area teams heading to South Dakota State University.
Iowa City Iowa — Spring practice is underway for the Iowa Hawkeye football team. The Hawkeyes are coming off an 8-5 season that ended with a 27-20 victory over Boston College in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl in New York. It marked Iowa’s fifth consecutive winning season and its 15th bowl appearance in 19 seasons.
The Hawkeyes will practice three days a week for five weeks during March and April. The final practice on April 20 will be open to the public inside Kinnick Stadium.
Shayla Post, of Sioux Center, has signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball and softball careers at Northwestern College next year.
Matt Mutuska has signed his letter of intent to play football with Dakota State University in Madison, SD.
Des Moines Iowa — While team assignments have yet to be released the host sites for the upcoming State qualifying track and field meets have been released. Area teams in 2A will converge on Sheldon as one of the host sites. In 3A it’s MOC Floyd Valley and in 1A teams will make their way to Sioux Central Sioux Rapids.
