Tournament softball begins tonight with play in games in Class 1A. For 2A and 3A in softball the regular season comes to a close while baseball teams wind down the regular season as well with Districts fast approaching.

Okoboji at Sheldon for a doubleheader with the first game at 5:30
Sandbulte, the son of Henry and Rhonda, is a 165/174 lb. wrestler from Sioux Center High School. He finished his senior season with a 24-18 record and had a career 32-37 record. Sandbulte earned three wrestling letters and was twice a Regional Dual participant.
Sandbulte finished fourth in the West Sioux Tournament and sixth in the Herb Irgens Tournament. He led Sioux Center in reversals (23), two point near falls (11), and three point near falls (18).
Sandbulte, a member of the Honor Roll, plans to major in Agricultural Business.
“Always excited to get local talent in the room, Austin will add depth to our big boys and we look to him to help set the pace in the practice room,” said head coach Rik Dahl.

With tournament time soon upon us in both softball and baseball it’s a light schedule this Saturday. On the softball schedule a pair of re scheduled dates make up the schedule. George Little Rock Central Lyon is at Boyden Hull Rock Valley with the varsity first pitch at 6pm. Also Spencer is at MOC Floyd Valley with a 6:30 varsity start.
On the baseball diamond a regularly scheduled game has Hinton at Woodbury Central for a 5:30 varsity start.
