Asgrow soybeans perform strong in 2021

IARN — Many farmers had a record growing year for soybeans in 2021, according to Asgrow product manager Ryan Tierney.

Speaking with the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network at Commodity Classic, Tierney said Asgrow brand soybeans offer advanced genetics and weed control flexibility to help maximize ROI. He says Asgrow brand soybeans performed very strong last year, even in parts of the country where drought was a major concern.

“We are firm believers in the Xtend crop system. We are really the leaders of that system. We have 100% exclusive genetics and so we are the brand of exclusive genetics. When you plant an Asgrow bag you know that you are receiving a product that no one else has in any other bag. In our XtendFlex Soybeans we have everything from a group double zero that we would plant in the northern part of the Dakotas all the way to a group 6 and 7 that we would plant in the Carolinas.”

Company officials say the exclusive genetics, found within Asgrow soybean varieties, stem from an “incredible foundation and history of breeders and germplasm that has evolved throughout our history.” Tierney talks about the excitement that is growing for the 2022 spring planting season.

“Right around the corner here we have the 2022 crop. It’s hard to believe after this winter that things are thawing out and it’s time to turn the planters on. We are offering exclusive genetics in our products in the XtendFlex system. This last year we saw about a 4 ½ bushel advantage over Pioneer Enlist Soybeans. We are proud of that and those genetics being in the bag. Hopefully a lot of our products will see Delaro Complete applications to really hold that plant health throughout the year. I think we’ve seen some big advantages of doing that.”
