UPL: Equipped To Satisfy Your Crop Protection Needs

(IARN) — UPL, the fifth largest agrochemical company in the world, looks forward to satisfying growers’ crop protection needs during the upcoming crop season.

UPL completed its acquistion of Arysta LifeScience from Platform Specialty Products in 2019, “further strengthening UPL’s position as a global leader in agricultural solutions.” Ryan Henry, Midwest technical services manager with UPL, speaks to products stemming from the acquisition.

“Some products from the acquisition would be ZOLERA (FX) and FORTIX,” Henry said. “They’re good fungicides for corn growers. They contain two ingredients: Strobilurin, which helps optimize the health of the plant, and another active ingredient for foliar disease control.”

UPL proudly offers a three-way fungicide, known as Dexter XCEL. Henry notes, “Dexter XCEL is the only fungicide on the market containng Mancozeb.”

“Mancozeb is a fungicide that’s been on the market for decades,” Henry said. “UPL is the largest manufacturer and distributor of that molecule. It’s a great contact product with no resistance issues documented.”

UPL recommends taking a total approach to crop management. The company’s vast portfolio can assist you with this effort, shares Henry.

“From a weed control strategy, we have pre- and post-emergence products that can help control weeds throughout the entire life cycle, in both corn and soybeans. With our seed enhancement, seed treatment line, we have products that can help the seed early on, when it’s germinating and in-season applications as well,” Henry said.
