Webinar To Help Dairy Producers Decide Whether To Get A Robotic Milking System

Orange City, Iowa — A webinar series for dairy farmers is featuring a number of topics. Wednesday’s is some tech that is becoming more and more potular.

The I-29 Moo University 2022 Dairy Webinar Series continues Wednesday, June 15 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. with a focus on asking the right questions before you commit to an automated milking system.

Extension experts invite you to tune in with Jim Salfer to learn if investing in a robotic milking system will help you achieve your goals and to discover the key management skills needed for success.

They tell us Salfer is a Regional Extension Educator with the University of Minnesota Extension. He is well-known across the country for his expertise and knowledge in automated milking systems.

Fred Hall, Orange City-based dairy specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach tells us that a robotic milking system is an expensive investment. He asks the question, “Is it the right decision for your dairy?” Hall says your long-term goals and management style are two factors to consider. Jim Salfer will share that and more.

Dairy producers and allied industry reps are invited to join the webinar. There is no fee to participate; however, preregistration is required at least one hour before it begins. Preregister online at https://go.iastate.edu/YTINPV.

For more information, contact Fred Hall at the Orange City office of Iowa State University Extension, at 712-737-4230.
