Sun Gets Blame For Injury Accident In Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sibley woman was taken to the hospital after an accident in Sheldon on Thursday, October 31, 2019.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 10:20 a.m., 21-year-old Jessica Corona of Sibley was driving a 2018 Jeep SUV southbound on Second Avenue (Business 60), near Dairy Dandy.

The report says that Corona was attempting to turn left onto a private alley. She told police that the sun blinded her, causing her to collide with a utility pole.

SCAT took Corona to the Sanford Sheldon Hospital. Her injuries were described as “minor.”

Corona’s Jeep SUV sustained $6000 in damages.

The report says no charges were filed.
