Sheldon Police Department / SCAT and Fire Department / EMA will compete to see which department can recruit the most blood donors for the community’s blood supply during the 12th Annual “Heroes Behind the Badges.”
This fun competition between the departments will be held on two different dates and locations beginning with Tuesday, February 5th at Village Northwest Unlimited from 7:30 am to 10:20 am and Sanford Sheldon Medical Center from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm on the same day.
The Heroes event will continue with a blood drive on Monday, February 25th from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Sheldon Community Services Building. The public is encouraged to designate their blood donation in honor of the department of their choice. The department with the most donations will receive the traveling trophy and bragging rights for the year.
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood. Please bring an ID with you at the time of donation.
