To celebrate National Blood Donor Month the Community Blood Bank will have a blood drive Tuesday, January 21st, at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Donors can schedule their donation by logging onto cbblifeblood.org, selecting “events”, and January 21 or call Community Blood Bank at 605-331-3222. All those who donate blood will receive Hy-Vee gift card as a thank you gift.
Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form available at cbblifeblood.org), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good general health. Individuals displaying cold or flu symptoms are unable to donate. Valid identification is required at registration. It’s recommended to eat within 3 hours of donating blood, and drink plenty of fluids before donating blood.
