The Owl Prowl, featuring Sioux County’s live Barred Owl, takes place February 6 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Prairie Woods Nature Center.
February is an ideal time to hear owls during their courtship and egg‑laying season. The evening begins with an hour of learning about Iowa’s owls, followed by a guided hike to listen and call for them.
Dress warmly and consider bringing a flashlight covered with red cloth or cellophane. Pre‑registration is appreciated.
