The O’Brien County Conservation Board is offering a multitude of opportunities for youth to get outdoors and EXPLORE this summer.
A survival camp for beginners will be held on Thursday, August 1st at the Prairie Heritage Center. Youths ages 8-14 will meet at the Prairie Heritage Center at 9:00 a.m. Some basic survival skills – such as compasses, plant identification, track identification, fire starting and more – will be covered. After learning some basics, participants will engage in a friendly competition to see if they could survive in these “Minute-to-Win-It” style challenges. The program will conclude at noon.
Pre-registration is requested for this event. Contact the O’Brien County Conservation Board at 712-295-7200.
