Hartley, Iowa — A call to 911 culminated in the arrest of a 25-year-old Archer woman early Sunday evening (July 13th).
According to court documents, a caller reported to the O’Brien County 911 dispatcher that a vehicle nearly rolled in front of their residence, and struck their mailbox. According to authorities, the caller also provided them with a description of the vehicle, which the caller alleged had been driving more than 70 mph on a gravel road, while the caller was following them.
Deputies report finding the suspect vehicle at a nearby acreage, and authorities say they were able to match paint transfer on the vehicle to the damaged mailbox.
Court papers say that the driver, 25-year-old Dakota Rae Strubbe, of Archer, allegedly exhibited bloodshot and watery eyes, as well as dilated pupils, and reportedly failed standard field sobriety tests.
According to deputies, Strubbe’s 3-year-old daughter was also in her mother’s vehicle at the time of the incident.
Strubbe was placed under arrest and charged with: 2nd Offense OWI, an Aggravated Misdemeanor; and Neglect or Abandonment of a Dependent Person, a Class C Felony, according to court documents.
