Alton, Iowa — An Alton man has been arrested on a felony sex abuse charge.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Orange City/Alton Police Department, 28-year-old Gabriel Barajas of Alton is accused of forcing himself on a 16-year-old victim in February. He was arrested on a warrant on Monday.
Barajas was charged with third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison.
He faces a preliminary hearing on the charge on Tuesday, July 15th.
At last report, Barajas remained in the Sioux County Jail in Orange City in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
