Alton, Iowa– An Alton woman was taken to the hospital after an accident near Alton on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that at about 1:30 p.m., 28-year-old Andrew Nieuwendorp of Orange City was driving a county road grader/maintainer northbound on Kingbird Avenue, about a mile and a half southeast of Alton. They tell us that 28-year-old Caitlin Full of Alton was also northbound on Kingbird in a 2022 Chevy SUV.
Details are unavailable at this time. What is known is that it was a same-direction sideswipe accident, the Chevy ran off the road and rolled over, the point of impact was the front passenger side, and the airbags were deployed in the Chevy.
The Alton Ambulance took Full to the Orange City Health System Hospital.
Full’s Chevy SUV sustained totaling damages listed at $35,000. The road grader was not damaged. The investigation continues.
