Sheldon, Iowa — An Archer man has been arrested on a felony drug charge after a traffic stop in Sheldon.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the O’Brien County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Sheldon Police Department, 36-year-old Wesley Lloyd of Archer is accused of the third or subsequent offense of possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested on Sunday.
In his statement, the officer says he made the stop for an alleged equipment violation. He says that during the stop, Lloyd gave consent for his vehicle to be searched. The officer says a container above the radio contained THC wax, and Lloyd allegedly admitted it was his.
Lloyd was charged with possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense, a class D felony. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.
He faces a preliminary hearing on July 7th.
At last report, Lloyd remained in the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar in lieu of bond.
