Spirit Lake, Iowa – Authorities are investigating a shooting that took place Tuesday in a rural area between Montgomery and Lake Park.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and several other law enforcement agencies were called to an address on 130th Street around 3:30 pm. An ambulance and first responders were called to the same location a short time later.
A post on the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page says two people were injured and that the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the investigation. It also states that there is no threat to the public. The post goes on to say that no other details are being released as of now.
Lakes Regional Healthcare was placed on lockdown as a result of the incident. That was lifted after being in place a little more than an hour.
