Boyden, Iowa– A Boyden woman was taken to the hospital after an accident near Boyden on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that at about 12:55 p.m., 76-year-old Doris Iwen of Boyden was driving a 2020 Hyundai westbound on Highway 18, a quarter mile west of Kiwi Avenue, or just under a mile and a half east of Boyden. They tell us that 21-year-old Jacie Sudbeck of Sheldon was eastbound on 18 in a 2018 Dodge.
The report says that Iwen lost control of her vehicle on the snow-covered road, causing her to cross the centerline and strike the rear of the Sudbeck Dodge.
The Boyden Ambulance took Iwen to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.
Iwen’s Hyundai sustained $3000 in damages, and Sudbeck’s Dodge sustained $5000 in damages.
Iwen was charged with failure to maintain control.
