Sioux Falls, SD — A Doon man will spend 20 years in federal prison after a drug-related conviction in Sioux Falls.
According to the South Dakota United States Attorney’s Office, Rylan Wayne Walth, a/k/a “Rylan Conrad” of Doon was
convicted of Distribution of a Controlled Substance Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and was sentenced this week to 240 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
The US Attorney’s Office says Walth was indicted by a federal grand jury on October 6, 2020. He pled guilty on March 4, 2021.
The attorney’s office says the conviction stemmed from an incident on or about September 8, 2019, when Walth, knowingly and intentionally distributed fentanyl and said fentanyl resulted in the serious bodily injury of a victim. The victim smoked the fentanyl provided by Walth and sustained an overdose, which was reversed by the administration of Narcan. Fentanyl is a Schedule II controlled substance.
This case was investigated by the Sioux Falls Police Department and the Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer D. Mammenga prosecuted the case. Walth was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
