Sibley, Iowa — Fire destroyed a farm building on the northwest edge of Sibley early Thursday evening.
According to Sibley Fire Chief Ken Huls, the call came in shortly before 6:00 Thursday evening for a structure fire at 5952 170th Street. Huls says when firefighters arrived they found a large farm building completely involved, and called for assistance from the Ashton and Little Rock Fire Departments.
The Chief says there were no injuries reported, but the building was a total loss. He says there were no livestock casualties, but hay, straw, and some farm equipment was lost in the blaze.
Huls says the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but he adds it appears to be accidental.
