Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon firefighters were called to the scene of a car fire early Tuesday morning.
Assistant Fire Chief Randy Harms says the 6:30 am call was for a car fire in the driveway of the Sunset Motel, located on South 2nd Avenue (Business 60 South) in Sheldon.
Harms says the fire was extinguished with water and foam. For a time Sheldon EMA closed down one lane of Business 60, due to a fire hose extending into the lane while attached to a hydrant.
Harms says the car was totaled in the fire, but no other damage nor injuries were reported.
Firefighters were on the scene for about 45-minutes.
